Abstract:

R.W. MacCormack method is used for the numerical integration of Saint Venant equations to simulate the propagation of one-dimensional dam-break wave. The computed water levels are compared with those measured on a laboratory experimental facility. The computed water levels compare well with the experimental data; however, the computed wave speed is slower than the measured one.
