Abstract:

A field study was conducted in Southern Quebec to determine the response of bell pepper plants to four irrigation treatments combined with three nitrogen fertilizer rates. The amount of water applied represented a range of wetted fractional soil volume (FSV) which was governed by the number of emitters along an 8.1 m long lateral. A production function of yield versus water applied indicated that maximum yield would occur at 95% FSV (19 emitters/lateral).
