Abstract:

To ensure a reliable, low maintenance infrastructure capable of withstanding the test of time, proper initial design is essential. The basis of the design standard for ductile iron pipe is that it behaves as a flexible conduit. This paper presents proper thickness design, soil evaluation and, when required, recommended corrosion protection method for ductile iron pipe to ensure a trouble-free infrastructure.
