Lifetime Reliability of Wood Structural Systems

by William M. Bulleit, Michigan Technological Univ, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Probabilistic Methods in Civil Engineering

Abstract:

A model to predict ultimate capacity reliability of wood systems is developed. The model is analogous to Markov cumulative damage models. System ultimate capacity is defined as failure of two adjacent members. Potentially unconservative assumptions used in the model development are explicitly stated.
