Abstract:

When the engineer is retained on an asbestos abatement project, he or she must bring to the job and employ that degree of skill and learning ordinarily exercised in the profession in similar circumstances. In addition, the engineer must dedicate appropriate skill and learning to the discovery and resolution of unique but foreseeable problems inherent in specific projects. The best use of engineering knowledge and skill on an asbestos abatement project will serve the goal of achieving by the use of foresight that which hindsight would expect.
