Abstract:

The Bureau of Reclamation is an agency of the Department of the Interior and was established in 1902 to oversee the development and conservation of the Nation's water resources in the western United States. Reclamation is helping to meet the electric power needs of our country by improving existing equipment and uprating existing generating units where feasible. Uprating is relatively inexpensive and does not involve protracted environmental differences.
