Abstract:

A contaminant transport model which is specifically designed for management applications is developed. A key feature is the transient velocity field needed in the solution of the advection-dispersion equation is computed using a linear system's technique. The kernel coefficients of aquifer drawdowns are generated by solving the groundwater flow equation. The advection-dispersion equation is solved using an improved particle tracking method.
