Abstract:

Concrete mats provide an alternative to the more conventional shoreline stabilization techniques. Material requirements are low, placement techniques are straightforward and they tend to be very stable. Large-scale wave tank test results are presented for the concrete armor mat, Tri-Lock. Results are indicative of general mat-type structure behavior. Hudson's stability coefficient was found to be approximately 50.
