Abstract:

Comparatively little has been published on the behavior of pressure injected footings in the Piedmont residual soils and weathered rocks. It is the purpose of this paper to describe some recent findings from two sites regarding pile capacity and the effects of installing nearby piles on the performance of previously completed piles. The changes in installation techniques that have recently been adopted in order to minimize pile heave are described and recommendations regarding modifications to the traditional pile test program are made.
