by Geoff Edwards, Dep of Environment & Planning, Coastal Management Branch, South, Australia, Australia,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '85

Abstract:

There are some basic principles that should be recognised by those persons involved in preparing coastal management plans. Within the context of coastal management in South Australia, these principles have been observed resulting in a plan that balances the need to determine specific policies for particular coastal areas so as to encourage constructive public involvement whilst maintaining a necessary and acceptable measure of flexibility for organizations involved in implementing the provisions of the plan.
