Abstract:

The first use of computers during foundation grouting was tried by the Bureau of Reclamation on Ridgeway Dam in Colorado. It was very useful in monitoring real time down hole conditions and for predicting fracturing or foundation uplift. This led to the development of a second generation system to record water/cement ratios, flows, and pressure and to compile and print all required Reclamation reports and drawings and provide real-time display of incoming grout data from the headers. This paper discusses the system development and application, including hardware configuration and software development.
