Abstract:

Compaction grouting is an attractive alternate for in-place densification of liquefiable soils below existing structures. Compaction grouting application concepts and procedures are presented for the important case of embankment dams founded on liquefiable sandy soils. Preliminary results of two full-scale test programs are presented to illustrate the proposed approach.
