Abstract:

Army land managers and planners are responsible for managing large, diverse parcels of training land for sustained use. The highly variable but often destructive training requires a systematic approach to monitoring land conditions, scheduling training land use, and performing maintenance operations. A variety of information systems, analysis tools, land maintenance techniques, and land-use planning aids are being developed to assist managers in these tasks.
