Abstract:

There is a very general unawareness of information available on hydraulic studies, application of these studies and import for other projects, and results of new project design methods. It has led to duplication of work previously done, and to less desirable and more costly design. Even where there is a knowledge of information available, the methods for retrieval are not always known, or easily available. In order to determine the sources of hydraulic information, what is available, where and how it can be obtained, a committee was established in October 1982. The committee members are charged with the responsibility of developing systematic means of obtaining hydraulic information and make them available to satisfy professional needs. A brief summary of the approaches used by the committee and the preliminary results obtained thus far are presented.
