Abstract: Urban underground water supply network is so anfractuous that a large amount of data requires to be processed, and that the traditional manual method or recurring to drawings can hardly meet the demands. Thus, a scientific, standardized, and automatic management system is imperative. On the study of actual status in medium-sized city, this paper presents a method to establish service pipe network management system. ArcGis, OCXs and SQL database are introduced to create or show data sets and graphical elements. The consistency of graphical elements and data sets ensures the automatic operation of control points, and realizes the automatic link with drawing software and graphics. On the purpose of providing reliable basis for emergency repair, design and construction, the designed system accomplishes the inquiry editing function of pipeline route, user information, unit worker information, valve, valve shaft and well pictures. At the same time, it can also meet the need of data updating, figure editing, database information modification. It makes the water supply network management easy, facile and exact, realizes the function of map browsing, zooming in, zooming out, roaming and adding annotation, also increases the applicability of the management system.
