Abstract: The typical eolian sand from ARongQi of Horqin desert highway to the North Sea inter-province channel Chek tong feeder is researched. The maximum dry density and optimum moisture content are obtained by standard compaction tests. Simultaneously, in view of vibration circumstance which is optimum moisture content and the best dry density(γ) need sand samples with different water content(ω) and vibration time are analyzed under the condition of a certain frequency and amplitude in the vibrate test. The samples of this region have characteristics of vibration compaction-vibration loose-re-vibration compaction, which obviously causes ω to be is lower. The research results offer applicable reference values for eolian sand as subgrade materials for building roads in the desert regions.
