| Abstract: |
This paper studies vehicle lane changing behavior in urban arterial streets and analyzes characteristics of driving behaviors when taking lane changes. It also does research on the relation indexes, such as distance between a lane changing vehicle and its surrounding vehicles and their speed. Thus, some basic rules on vehicle lane changes based on driving behaviors are produced and a basic lane changing model is established. |
