A Kind of Snow Removal Machine with High Efficiency and Low Cost

Abstract: In north winter, the snow on highway and urban road has negative effect on transportation and daily life, even can cause traffic accident. It is very important and necessary to remove the snow over and ice-snow mixture on road effectively and quickly. Currently in China snow removal mainly relies on salt. The mechanism is reducing the melting point of ice and snow to make it dissolve faster. In this way, the result of snow removal is good, but this method has lots of shortages, such as high cost, easy to erode concrete components, pollution to environment and easily affected by temperature, etc. In order to keep transportation smooth, a snow removal machine was designed in this paper. It could both remove snow and break up ice-snow mixture. The structural characteristics of this snow removal machine are listed as follows. Oscillatory wedge blade was applied to push snow continuously. The snow cover could be pushed away and the hard ice-snow mixture was broken up by oscillating it. In order to be suitable for different road surfaces, the machine was designed in separate structure. Flexible connection was applied to improve its efficiency. With the view to reducing the complexity of structure and manufacturing cost, the machine was designed to be hung on engineering machine or vehicles.
