| Abstract: |
Analysis of freeway weaving section has attracted considerable research attention ever since the 1950 HCM. Despite the growing body of literature on this topic, precious little effort has been devoted to synthesizing the overall state of research. This paper provides a detailed review of key issue associated with capacity analysis as well as the strength and weakness of the various methodological approaches. It is the prospect of combining evolving methodologies with far more detailed lane-changing behaviors differences in each configuration that holds the greatest promise for the future. |
