Abstract
A 30-months betterment and expansion project of Cheng-du North Station will be implemented after the spring festival of 2011. During this period, its passenger transportation will be accomplished by South station and East station of Chengdu, while the newly-built East station will undertake the main passenger volume. The prediction of the daily dispatch passenger volume of East Station in the years of 2011–2013 is based on this condition and using the methods of secondary exponential smoothing. Besides, according to the planner graph of the East Station and the analysis of the characteristics of the traffic and passenger flow, some methods of transportation organization to mitigate the pressure of the traffic condition brought by the increased shifting flow is suggested in the following.
