| Abstract: |
Based on the analysis of transfer behavior characteristics, this paper classifies different transfer types. Two transfer types that passengers must spend time in waiting for the next vehicle are studied: (1) passengers who arrive and leave the urban public transportation terminal in a group, and (2) passengers who arrive separately at the terminal and leave the terminal in a group. This paper also presents the equations of average waiting time for the two traffic modes. On the basis of the equations, some measures which will shorten the waiting time are put forward in order to improve the operation efficiency of the transit. A simulation program is applied to validate the precision of the equations. The results show the higher accuracy of the equations and lower workload. |
