Abstract: The public transport network description model, the public transport vehicle generation model, the dwell time model and the public transport vehicle operation mode are developed. Then MTSS is taken as simulation platform to build the microscopic traffic simulation model of public transport vehicle operation. The simulation model is validated with field observed data for both curbside stop and bus bay, the error between observed data and simulation data is within 10%, which shows that the simulation model can describe public transport vehicle operations and interactions between public transport vehicle and other traffic. Finally, the simulation model is used to study traffic flow characteristics of public transport stop influence section under different traffic conditions, and obtained some valuable conclusions.
