Abstract: A modified method of calculating crossed beams on elastic foundations is described. This method is based on the Zemozkin-Sinicyn theory assuming the soil to be an elastic, isotropic medium of infinite dimensions, but instead of solving the crossed beam as a unit, and thus dealing with numerous simultaneous linear equations, a method of separation of the two beams is presented. This method overcomes the problem of the discontiuity of the contact pressure under the intersection of the two beams, while combining them together.
