Abstract:

In an effort to speed the development of an electronic permitting process in Fairfax County, Virginia, the firm Dewberry & Davis conducted a forum as part of a kickoff process. The objective is to simplify and accelerate the development-review and permit-issuance processes and to improve uniformity and predictability in code applications through Internet-based technology. The ultimate goal is to create a computer network tying together the entire construction industry.
