| Abstract: |
The paper reports the salient features of a simple theoretical model (with its predictions backed by mainly large scale test data) which provides an insight into the mechanism of premature plate peeling failure in reinforced concrete beams strengthened in flexure by externally bonded steel or FRP plates glued to their tensile side, and provides a simple means of predicting such largely brittle failures. |
