Abstract:

Recent advances in the development and use of composite materials have renewed interest in the applications of engineering mechanics in this growing field. This proceedings provides a number of examples of such applications. New ways of using composites, understanding the manufacturing processes, and failure mechanisms necessitated by these new applications are presented. The subject matter encompasses both infrastructure and aerospace applications of these new materials and methods.
