Abstract:

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is being used as a base model to simulate the Missouri River basin for prediction of the impacts of climate change on water resources in the region. Thus far, the model has been assembled with calibration steps nearing completion and validation work still to be done. The calibration has been moderately successful, with the majority of error in the range of -100% to 100% of observed results. Further work will include modifying and testing the model before simulating the effects of climate change on the Missouri River basin.
