Abstract:

The City of Anaheim Public Utilities Department conducted a comprehensive water use survey for Coca-Cola Foods plant located in Anaheim and recommended several conservation measures to save 159 Ml/yr (42 million gal/yr) of water. With an annual plant consumption of518 Ml (137 million gallons), the recommended measures potentially save 30% of the total water use at the plant. A discussion of all the recommendations presented in the original study is beyond the scope of this paper. The intent here is to discuss the recommendations connected closely to the steam and condensate systems and the specific measures that can potentially save 39 Ml per year (10.4 million gal/yr).
