Abstract: Golden 1 Center, the $550-million sports and entertainment complex recently constructed in Sacramento, California, for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, may set a new standard when it comes to being high tech—certainly fitting for a venue owned by a Silicon Valley luminary. The arena is also the first in the world to achieve platinum certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system.
