Field Quality Control

Part of: Practical Guide to Grouting of Underground Structures

Abstract:

A good quality control program helps ensure that technical requirements of the grouting are met and also adds to the overall success of a grouting project. The quality control program for underground grouting starts with the design. The design must be adequate to meet the project engineering requirements while remaining reasonable and sufficiently flexible from a constructability standpoint. This can be best accomplished by engaging an experienced grouting engineer during the early stages of design. This individual will work closely with the design team to establish practical and achievable goals for both the quality control program and the grouting operation as a whole.
