Abstract:

The interrelated activities and responsibilities of the various organizations involved in the lift design and offshore installation of topside facilities for an offshore platform are discussed. Specific topics include module design weights, padeye design considerations, selective positioning of slings and design of alignment guides. Comments are directed primarily to the owner's representative who must coordinate, monitor and approve the activities of the other organizations that are involved. The intent is to provide a practical guide that will be helpful in planning for the execution of the project and the overall monitoring process.
