Teams Are the Best Development Vehicles

Abstract:

Any natural team or work group provides an excellent vehicle for learning and cross-training among group members and for development of individual members as well as the organization: Individual development within an organization must be reinforced in a team or group, or new skills will quickly be forgotten from lack of support on the job. For the same reason, group/team development within an organization must be pursued as a group working on skills together. Organization development development of an entire firm, agency, division, or office must be done in small, team-size groups to be effective.
