In Abu Dhabi, the 150 m tall Al Bahr Towers feature an innovative shading system patterned after a traditional Arabic architectural design but utilizing modern technology to ensure that the system opens and closes on a schedule as the sun strikes different sides of the glazed buildings. The result is a pair of elegant, towering structures that are designed to reduce the site's carbon emissions by as much as 20 percent.
