Aspects of reduction of air consumption and production of fine bubbles; making bubbles smaller increases energy consumption; for economy, not amount of air but power/lb of oxygen introduced into water is of importance; economy index is presented based on applied energy in proportion to oxygen uptake; calculable idealized spiral flow system was studied in which flow controlled aerating basin is obtained; conclusions.
