Analysis of movement at ten locations on main and side spans of Golden Gate bridge; it is shown that oscillations are almost always symmetric with amplitude inhibited by sharply downward deflection of prevailing west wind as it passes over high hill before passing north side of span; installation of bottom lateral system to prevent recurrence of torsional motion.
