Abstract:

Pump Station 64 has experienced a number of sewage overflows into Penasquitos Lagoon since 1979 (57 in total). The California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) issued a Cease and Desist Order. The compliance schedule included planning, design and construction of major permanent improvements including a parallel force main, pumping capacity expansion and alternate power source. Reconstruction work at the existing pump station was to proceed concurrently with the station expansion project.
