Abstract:

Hackensack Water Company has had an on-going program of cleaning and lining its transmission mains to increase their capacity and lower its pumping costs. But by late 1986, the need to assess the condition of the entire system was clear in the mind of management. The Engineering Department was requested to conduct an evaluation of operating, maintenance and water quality problems in the distribution system. This report summarizes the results of that evaluation, the criteria used in identifying areas needing rehabilitation, and the recommended program of work.
