Abstract:

In times of limited funding, roads and mass transit are sometimes seen as competing interests, but in Denver the two are united in a massive effort to reinvent an aging and congested transportation corridor. The $1.67-billion Transportation Expansion Project, or T-REX, combined a sweeping program of highway improvements with the construction of a new light-rail in a single design/build contract.
