Abstract:

The material presented in this manual, Construction Plant and Methods for Flood Control on the Lower Mississippi River and Similar Streams, has been prepared in the hope that it will be of practical value. This has required not only a careful selection of material, but its orderly presentation as well, so that particular sub-divisions may easily be located by the reader. A definite outline of subjects and subdivisions has been followed as faithfully as possible. In effect, this manual is a brief encyclopedia on the field work of flood-control engineering.
