An equation is developed for determining the maximum deflection, shear force, and bending moment in orthotropic steel deck bridge transverse floor beams. The slope-deflection equation solution of the orthotropic plate equation is used to obtain parametric results. These results are combined with simple beam behavior in deriving the equation. The equation is applicable to orthotropic steel deck bridges which have either open or closed type ribs.
