Abstract: An extension of Liapunov's direct method is employed to investigate stability and boundedness of discrete structural systems. Bounds on the response of structures with dynamic loading, including parametric excitation, are established in explicit form. These bounds are specialized to provide a stability criterion for elastically end-restrained columns under parametric loading and response bounds for systems under forced vibration.
