Abstract: Leaders in the profession of land surveying in Canada are taking significant steps to modernize land parcel surveying and records. A few leaders in the United States are also making some progress. This paper summarizes several important projects in British Columbia, Ontario, and the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, and in California, Missouri, Texas and Wisconsin. It also comments on differences in surveying education in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A.
