Abstract: The dispersion of waste water from a recharge well is studied. The well is situated in a confined aquifer through which there is a natural uniform flow. The convective-dispersion equation is solved by application of the Fourier transform and the Wiener-Hopf technique. By replacing the local seepage velocity V with the uniform flow velocity U/θ the convective-dispersion equation was solved by the Weiner-Hoff techniques. A closed form solution was obtained for the special case ´1 = 0. An analysis of the case ˇ1 ≠ established that for problems likely to be encountered in practice the special case ´1 = 0 adequately describes the distribution of concentration.
