Abstract:

This paper describes the test of a full-scale, bi-directional, PR composite beam-to-column connection. The PR connection consisted of continuous reinforcement bars across the column and a T-stub bolted onto each bottom beam flange in the strong direction (A 572 Grade 50 W18x40 beam to strong axis of W14x159 column), and continuous reinforcement bars across the column and a shear tab in the weak direction (W24x55 beam to weak axis of W14x159 column). The test specimen had a 22' x 30', 3-1/4 lightweight concrete slab on 3 composite decking.
