On Silt Abrasion Erosion of Three Gorges Hydraulic Turbine in the Future

Abstract:

In this paper the basic parameters of Three Gorges hydraulic turbine have been reviewed and the operation characteristics of Three Gorges hydropower Station pointed out. Combined with sediment conditions, the silt abrasion erosion of Three gorges hydraulic turbine has been discussed thoroughly, with some new research achievements being introduced. It is concluded that future Three Gorges hydraulic turbines will suffer from heavy silt abrasion erosion. At last, some directions of research on silt abrasion erosion of hydraulic turbine have been presented.
