Problems with Metrication in Transboundary Water Projects

Abstract:

This presentation discusses the lessons learned and difficulties encountered by the author in the conversion to SI (System International or modernized metric system) and provides a brief description of the application of SI in the US/Mexico transboundary water and environment projects. The appropriate metric documents and ASCE standards available at the time of this writing for the North American Water and Environment Congress '96 are mentioned within this paper. Recommendations for continuing more Pro SI Water Projects are given in a summary format.
