Abstract:

In November 1990, the Maricopa-Stanfield Irrigation and Drainage District agreed to participate in the first application of the Management Improvement Program (MIP) for irrigated agriculture. The District's perspective of the demonstration program and evaluation of the MIP's strengths, weaknesses and overall benefits to the District area is important to understanding how future applications of this program can be used effectively elsewhere.
