Abstract:

Risk analysis for shortage of water on the joint operation of Li-Yu-Tan Reservoir and Shih-Kang Dam (Reservoir) in central Taiwan is presented in this paper. Deter ministic simulation, stochastic simulation and optimization (dynamic programming) were used for the study. A shortage index developed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a shortage indicator (%-day) commonly used in Japan and Taiwan, were selected to evaluate the degree of water deficit in analysis.
