Abstract:

The San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor (SJHTC) is a 24 km Design/Build tollway which has been financed with bonds to be paid back with toll revenue. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) identified numerous measures to mitigate the impacts of the project on the environment including treatment of pavement runoff. A new water quality treatment system, known as the Compost Storm Water Filter (CSF?), was used to meet this treatment requirement.
