Abstract:

The Orange County.s Hydrology and Hydraulics Technical Group (HHTG) has been very successful ever since it was founded in 1991. The HHTG is incorporated as a Technical Group under the by-laws of ASCE Los Angeles Section, and operates as a sister organization of the Orange County Branch, which is also incorporated under the same by-laws. At present the IHI}ITG organizes bimonthly programs and attracts over 50 professionals working in the field of hydrology, hydraulics, and related areas. Although, everything appears to be on the success path at this time, all of this has not happened over night. There have been many struggles and instances of frustration among the people who originally envisioned forming the HHTG prior to 1991. Of course, nothing happens spontaneously, unless the place, timing and people, all come together.
